My MAC Starter Kit

MAC is such a popular brand that has a massive range of products, but for someone just getting into it can be a bit overwhelming, and you may feel a bit lost where to start! So these are a few MAC items I think are a great base for your makeup collection, but remember to adapt it to work for you! If you don't want to wear blush or lipstick or eyeliner, just leave it out. Makeup is unique and creative and a great way to express yourself, so make sure its all about you. The products I think are great starters areeee.....

-MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals- This is a really lightweight natural looking powder, that can be used alone for a light coverage or over foundation to set it. This is one of the most popular MAC products, and has quite a cult following, so check it out! 

- MAC Eyeshadows in All That Glitters and Omega or Charcoal Brown- These are all beautiful neutral colors, that can be built up to give you the look that you want. All That Glitters is the perfect everyday lid color, and for night can be deepened thru the crease with Omega or Charcoal Brown- otherwise ask your MAC lady/man for a couple of everyday eyeshadows that work well on you!

- MAC Paintpot in Painterly- This is the perfect matte, neutral eyeshadow base that will help stop your eyeshadows from creasing, make them last all day, and really make the colours pop. For something with a bit more color check out Rubenesque also.

- MAC Lipstick in Angel- A really lovely everyday nude pink color. A 'my lips but better' color that is loved by Kim Kardashian, and is my favourite lipstick also <3

- MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy is a great brown eyeliner, and I like brown for everyday as its a bit softer than black.

CLINIQUE REDNESS SOLUTIONS FOUNDATION REVIEW

So I have been on the hunt for a great foundation since.. well forever. I have tried countless foundations, and have found that seem to do what I want them to! I don't have acne or blemishes, I just had a bit of discoloration and uneven skin tone, so I need something to even out my skin and basically make it look flawless.

I was really excited to pick up this product, because the lady said it was especially designed to cover any redness and uneven skintone, and was perfect for my dry sensitive skin.
I applied it in the morning and loved it. Evened out my skin, and looked really nice! However, just 5 hours later I went to the bathroom at work and looked in the mirror...

This foundation wears terribly. I was orange, blotchy, and uneven. I had set it that morning with the Redness Solutions powder, but it had completely worn off my cheeks, and had oxidized badly on my skin. I don't have oily skin at all, and had set it with powder, so I feel like there are no excuses for this to happen to the extent it did!

I'm really disappointed in this product, especially considering the price point (I cant remember exactly how much it was but I think it was around $52 NZD). It just didn't work me at all.
